What is sports massage?

Sports massage is designed to support the body before and after physical effort. It aims to prepare your muscles for activity, support muscular recovery and ease built-up tension.

Depending on what you need, a session may include dynamic or deep techniques as well as mobility work. The pace, the pressure and the areas worked on are adjusted to you, to your activity and to how your body feels that day.

Who is it for?

You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit. This type of massage may suit people who, for example:

  • play a sport or stay physically active, whether occasionally or regularly;
  • are getting ready for a competition, a season or a particular challenge;
  • want to support their recovery after training;
  • feel muscle tension from physical work, posture or everyday life;
  • would like to add mobility work to their routine.

What happens during a session

Each session starts with a short conversation about your activities, what you are preparing for or recovering from, where you feel tension and what you hope to get out of the massage.

The massage is then adapted to what you shared. You can ask at any time to adjust the pressure, change technique or take a break: your comfort sets the course.

At the end, Sarah-Kim takes a moment to check in with you about the areas that were worked on and how you are feeling.

Your health comes first

Sports massage does not replace medical advice and is not meant to diagnose anything. If you have a recent injury, unusual pain, a particular health condition, or if you are pregnant, please mention it before your session.

Sarah-Kim may adapt the massage, postpone it or suggest that you first see a health professional if that seems wiser.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be an athlete to book?

Not at all. Sports massage is just as suited to people who are active in their daily lives as it is to athletes. Each session is adapted to your activity level and your needs.

Will the massage hurt?

Some techniques can be deeper, but the intensity is discussed with you and can be adjusted at any time. Just say whether the pressure feels right.

Is this physiotherapy?

No. The service offered is masso-kinésithérapie, described here as sports massage. It does not replace an assessment or follow-up by a health professional.

Can I book if I have an injury?

Please mention any injury, pain or health condition before your session. Depending on the situation, the massage may be adapted or postponed, or you may be encouraged to see a health professional first.

When should I book relative to training or a competition?

It depends on your goal: getting ready for effort or recovering from it. You can talk it over with the clinic at 819-469-7185 or at the start of your session, and the massage will be adjusted accordingly.

Will I get a receipt?

Yes. A receipt is available in your client area after your session. For any reimbursement questions, please check directly with your insurer.
